Miami Open: Possible Ana Ivanovic - Jelena Jankovic Semifinal Again!?

Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic could match up in yet another Masters Series Semi-final in last than 2 weeks time, this time in Miami. Ana is #2 seed, Jelena #3 and both will be free in Round 1.

Miami Open, officially Sony Ericsson Open, will see Ana play against the winner of Virginia Ruano Pasqual (Spain) - Emillia Loa (France) match in Round 2, while Jelena awaits the winner of match between Swede Sofia Arvidsson and a qualifier.

Full of confidence after winning Indian Wells, Ana will in her part of the draw tree have potentional opponents such as Lindsay Devenport and Dinara Safina up to Round 4, in the Quarterfinals Ana could face Daniela Hantuchova, Nicole Vaidisova and Vera Zvonreva.

Jelena could await in Round 3 Italian Knapp, Czech Safarova and Romanian Kirstea, then Amelie Mouresmo or Nadia Petrova. Possible opponents in the Quarterfinals are Anna Chakvetadze, Alize Cornet, Elena Dementieva, Francesca Skiavone, Sania Mirza...

In all, there are realistic chances that we will see Ana and Jelena battling for the place in the Final. One must admit that A & J had some luck in the draw as in other half of the draw, aside World #1 Justine Henan are also sisters Williams and Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Justine missed Indian Wells to get some rest while Williams sisters passed it due to personal reasons. Serena will be defending the title she won against Justine last yr in 3 sets, 0:6, 7:5, 6:3. Maria Sharapova will not participate in Miami because of the shoulder injury.

Jelena lost in Round 3 last year against Italian Mara Santangelo, Ana lost in even earlier in Round 2 against Yaroslava Schvedova, so A & J will have good opportunity to win additional WTA points with so little points to defend from last year.

It's like the sole excitement until the Semifinals is to see whether Jelena and Ana will play against each other again, and which one of them will compete for the title!? It makes Rounds 1-4 boring with one finalist 'almost' already known but A & J are lately flourishing with so many great plays, confidence and self-assurance that those feelings overwhelm the fans as well :)

Ana - Jelena Miami Semifinal? Ok!
